The Women Writers Route (WWR) proudly leads the International and Interdisciplinary Summer School 2025, organized in collaboration with the CEEPUS Women Writers in History Network, the DARIAH Working Group Women Writers in History, and the University of Nova Gorica Foundation.

The FSK took part in the 12th Training Academy for Cultural Routes, which took place in and around Torres Vedras, Portugal, from 11 to 13 June. The European Institute of Cultural Routes, Luxembourg, organised the event in cooperation with Destination Napoleon, Iter Vitis and the Portuguese representatives of the Historic Café Routes.

The Women Writers Route has welcomed five new authors into its network: Minna Canth, Natalia Ginzburg, Alma M. Karlin, Marcelle Tinayre, and Adèle Weman. These pioneering women, known for their literary achievements and advocacy for social change, further enrich the WWR’s mission to celebrate women’s cultural heritage across Europe.

To celebrate Zofka Kveder’s birthday, the Women Writers Route hosted a screening of The Genes of My Children, a documentary by her great-great-granddaughter Vladimira Spindler. The event highlighted Kveder’s legacy and featured a conversation on intergenerational creativity, emancipation, and the new cross-border project Ljubka’s Trail.

The Women Writers Route celebrates the success of the International Conference on Cultural Routes, held in the twin cities of Nova Gorica and Gorizia from April 14–16, 2025. Against the stunning backdrop of the Slovenian-Italian border, scholars, artists, and cultural leaders gathered to explore how shared heritage builds bridges between communities.

The Women Writers Route association celebrated a milestone with its 6th General Assembly, held in person for the first time on March 25, 2025, in Celje, Slovenia. Members from across Europe gathered to reflect on the past year’s achievements, welcome new collaborators, and chart an ambitious course for the future.

Gorizia, 7 and 8 March 2025 –Women Writers Route, the Forum of Slavic Cultures and the Lojze Bratuž Cultural Centre celebrated International Women’s Day in a very pleasant and working way. On Friday, 7 March, they awarded tourist guides and students of the Cankar Vega Zois Higher Secondary School with certificates for the successful completion

Gorizia, 19 February 2025 – The concert The Singing Echo of Ljubka’s Trail took place in the Large Hall of the Lojze Bratuž Cultural Centre which delighted the audience and in a remarkable way revived the memory of Ljubka Šorli on her  birthday. The concert brought together more than 200 young singers, and the audience rewarded them with enthusiastic applause.

22 January 2025, Nova Gorica – Ljubka’s Trail has been included in the official programme of the European Capital of Culture Nova Gorica – Gorica 2025. This cultural and tourist trail is dedicated to the poet Ljubka Šorli and other women writers from the Goriška region, whose creative works have left a lasting impact on both sides of the border.

January 11, 2025, Nova Gorica – The third module of the tourist guide training program within the Ljubka’s Trail project took place at the University of Nova Gorica. This session focused on the rich historical and literary heritage of the Goriška region, as well as the life and work of poet Ljubka Šorli.
