Women Writers Route Connects: Dr. Andreja Rihter Visits the Museum of Literature in Warsaw

Dr. Andreja Rihter visited the Adam Mickiewicz Museum of Literature in Warsaw, where, within the framework of the Council of Europe Cultural Route Women Writers Route, she met with the institution’s leadership and learned more about its activities in preserving and presenting literary heritage.

The Women Writers Route, one of the Council of Europe’s Cultural Routes, highlights the lives and works of European women writers at the turn of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries while promoting innovative approaches to the interpretation of cultural, literary, and linguistic heritage. The route also fosters participatory approaches to literary and social heritage and connects institutions dedicated to its research, preservation, and promotion.

The Adam Mickiewicz Museum of Literature is an active participant in the project, introducing international audiences to the life and work of the Polish writer Maria Konopnicka, whose 184th birth anniversary was commemorated on 23 May.

During her visit, Dr. Rihter met with Adam Kowalski, Deputy Director of the Museum, to discuss the further development of the cultural route and opportunities for strengthening international cooperation. She also toured the exhibition dedicated to Maria Konopnicka, curated by Katarzyna Jakimiak.
