Women Writers Route Summer School 2025: Women Writers, Digital Humanities, and Cross-Media Narratives

The Women Writers Route (WWR) leads the International and Interdisciplinary Summer School 2025, organized in collaboration with the CEEPUS Women Writers in History Network, the DARIAH Working Group Women Writers in History, and the University of Nova Gorica Foundation.

Taking place from 27 August to 1 September 2025 in Nova Gorica, as the city celebrates its title of European Capital of Culture, the Summer School continues WWR’s mission to connect European women’s literary heritage with contemporary research, education, and innovation.

Hosted within the framework of the MA programme in Women Writers in World Literature and the PhD programme in Gender and Literature at the University of Nova Gorica, the Summer School offers an intensive week of lectures, workshops, and thematic excursions. Participation in all sessions is compulsory.

The programme brings together renowned researchers, digital humanists, and cultural practitioners from universities across the CEEPUS network, along with Slovene and international experts. Through lectures, hands-on workshops, and collaborative discussions, participants will explore cross-media literary topics, digital tools for literary analysis, and the role of women writers in reshaping European cultural memory.

Encouraging both academic excellence and creative exchange, the Women Writers Route Summer School offers a unique opportunity to engage directly with leading scholars, discover new research methods, and experience the intersection of literature, technology, and gender studies in an inspiring international environment.
