On the occasion of 8 March, International Women’s Day, we cordially invite you to the presentation of Ljubka’s Trail – a cultural and tourist route dedicated to Ljubka Šorli and the women writers of Goriška.
The presentation will take place on Thursday, 7 March 2024, at 11.00 in the Conference Hall of the Trgovski dom at 52 Corso Verdi in Gorizia. The Ljubka’s Trail project will be presented by Dr. Andreja Rihter, Director of the Forum of Slavic Cultures and Prof. Franka Žgavec, President of the Lojze Bratuž Cultural Centre. Ljubka’s Trail, a cross-border literary trail of poetry and equality, is a project of the Forum of Slavic Cultures and the Lojze Bratuž Cultural Centre and presents the tangible and intangible cultural heritage of the Goriška region. Within the framework of the project, the partners will map out a walking, hiking and cycling trail in the footsteps of the poet Ljubka Šorli and her literary predecessors and contemporaries. The trail will take visitors along their life and literary paths, linking a wider area on both sides of the border and stretching as far as Tolmin, where Ljubka Šorli was born and grew up. Together with experts and various organisations from the border area, and in cooperation with the Women Writers Route, the Cultural Route of the Council of Europe, the partners will carry out a series of educational and cultural programmes and events, and will publish a guidebook on Ljubka’s Route and a collection of the works of the often overlooked women writers who have lived and worked in the area. At the event, we will present the waypoints and the calendar of project activities.
The project is funded by the European Union through the Small Project Fund GO! 2025 of the Interreg VI-A Italy-Slovenia 2021-2027 programme, managed by the EGTC GO.
