FSK Goes Virtual in the Russian Polar Circle
The FSK accepted the invitation by the Murmansk State Regional Universal Scientific Library to attend the international online conference that marked the day of Slavic writing.
Even in the new normal, the FSK continues its active efforts in promoting the creativity of Slavic cultures. At the international online meeting dedicated to projects exploring literature, library science and translation, the FSK Director, Dr. Andreja Rihter, talked about the Forum of Slavic Cultures and its key activities and went on to present the 100 Slavic Novels and Women Writers’ Route projects. She stressed that the diversity and wealth of Slavic languages and literatures should be nurtured and promoted.
Participants from Bulgaria, Russia and Slovenia, among them also two representatives from the Association of Russian Writers, expressed a lot of interest in both projects and were excited about the diverse programme of the FSK centre in Moscow, presented at the conference by the head of the centre, Olena Marchenko.
The participants of the conference marking the day of Slavic writing, which was organised by Murmansk State Regional Universal Scientific Library, were welcomed by the governor of the Murmansk region, Andrey Chibis. They left the conference hoping that next year will come with the opportunity to meet in person and explore the Russian Arctic landscape, which has inspired so many writers, together.
