The Forum of Slavic Cultures’ Living Villa cycle continues. Together with the Women Writers Route Association the FSK hosted the kick-off event of the 11th international seminar for translators of Slovenian literature, which is organised by the Slovenian Association of Literary Translators.

Members of the Women Writers Route Association from seven countries met at the general meeting. They approved the Association’s bodies, took note of its previous activities and fundamental documents, and adopted the work programme for the next three-year period. Their first task is to prepare and submit the application for the certification Cultural Route of the Council of Europe.

As part of this year’s Fabula Festival, the first public event, a literary evening with Ana Marwan, took place in the garden of Villa Zlatica. With this, the Forum of Slavic Cultures which is housed in Villa Zlatica, is joining Ljubljana venues for outdoor events.

The volume Defiant Trajectories: Mapping out Slavic Women Writers Route brings six academic papers on women writers from Montenegro, Croatia, Poland, Russia, Serbia and Slovenia. The publishers of the papers from the conference dedicated to women writers are the association Women Writers Route and Forum of Slavic Cultures.

The delegation of the Forum of Slavic Cultures paid a working visit to Ogulin, Croatia, where they met with the mayor of Ogulin and the director of Ivana’s House of Fairy Tales. Ivana’s House of Fairy Tales is the national coordinator of the Women Writers Route in Croatia.

The Women Writers Route Association, which will apply for the certificate of the European cultural route, has been formally established and registered in accordance with regulations. The project partners are actively involved in the design and implementation of activities, including Biljana Dojčinović from Serbia, a member of the WWR Scientific Council.

Even in the new conditions, activities within the new cultural route dedicated to women writers have not died down. The program council and the scientific council of the emerging association met at online meetings.

The international conference dedicated to women writers’ cultural route aimed to shed light on the different aspects of the route that is being set up by the Forum of Slavic Cultures (FSK) and its partners. The conference was organised by All-Russia State Library for Foreign Literature M. I. Rudomino, Institute of Translation and Institute of Slavic Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

The FSK accepted the invitation by the Murmansk State Regional Universal Scientific Library to attend the international online conference that marked the day of Slavic writing.

As part of the preparations for the official certification of the new European cultural route – the Women Writers’ Route – the Forum of Slavic Cultures attended the online training organised by the European Institute of Cultural Routes.
