The Women Writers Route in Ogulin, Croatia

The delegation of the Forum of Slavic Cultures paid a working visit to Ogulin, Croatia, where they met with the mayor of Ogulin and the director of Ivana’s House of Fairy Tales. Ivana’s House of Fairy Tales is the national coordinator of the Women Writers Route in Croatia.

After the inception of the Women Writers Route Association, the initiator of the European cultural route, partners officially started to join the project. Croatian partners of the Women Writers Route are the Centre for Women’s Studies from Zagreb, now joined by the City of Ogulin and Ivana’s House of Fairy Tales. The latter is also the national coordinator of the Women Writers Route in Croatia. Dalibor Domitrović, Mayor of Ogulin, Tihana Turković, Director of Ivana’s House of Fairy Tales, Director of Forum of Slavic Cultures Andreja Rihter and FSK’s Mateja Jančar, project manager, discussed the objectives of the Association, its envisaged activities and the application for certification of the cultural route at the Council of Europe.

The Croatian part of the Women Writers Route will focus on Marija Jurić Zagorka and Ivana Brlić Mažuranić, who are among the authors featured in the scientific volume entitled Defiant Trajectories: Mapping out Slavic Women Writers Routes.
